Description: Children discover materials in a different context by making patterns and designs using their fingers. This is a great pre-Garden Project activity to develop the sense of touch. Inspired by the Land Art movement of the 1960’s also known as Earthworks. Where Art and Nature are inextricably linked, It is an Art that uses natural materials like mud, soil, sand, water, grass, rocks, branches, and trees to create unique works of art.


Learning Objectives: Developing a sense of touch (tactile art with mud), aesthetics and design using natural materials
