Project: The Garden Project
Conducted by: Stefania Sarasiti
Description: Despite popular belief that watermelon is made up of only water and sugar, watermelon is actually considered a very nutrient dense food. Its a food that provides a lot of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Watermelon season has become synonymous with Summer. Their refreshing quality and sweet flavor help to combat the heat while providing a guilt-free, low maintenance dessert for kids and adults. Just like the cantaloupe and honeydew melons, watermelons are a member of the botanical family Cucurbitaceae. Did you know that in Japan, some farmers grow square shaped watermelons?
Perfect to combine with the pumpkin/ vegetable making instrument activity.
